What to Expect

Here’s what you will see at our worship services!

When should I arrive and where should I park?

Parking is easy, but arriving a few minutes before our 9:30am Bible class will help in finding a close parking place. Visitors and handicapped parking is available on the east side of our building (near the carport). Parking lots are also available on the west side of our building, and you can also park on 31st Street just in front of our building.

What should I expect at a Sunday worship gathering?

Greeters will welcome you at our east and west entrances and an Info Booth is located in Common Groundz (our coffee area) just inside the front entrance to welcome you and answer any question about our gathering you might have.
Our assemblies last between 1 and 1.5 hours. We sing praises to God together. We pray for each other and our community. We remember Jesus’ death and celebrate his resurrection through communion. We will also hear a compelling and relevant message from the Bible.

What time do you meet?

We begin each Sunday morning at 9:00 with a time of coffee, food, and friendly conversation that we like to call Common Groundz. Immediately following Commong Groundz, our Bible classes meet from 9:30am to 10:15am. These include various classes for all ages and stages of life on Bible-based subjects to help you in your walk with God. We hope you will want to join one of these classes and let us get to know you. Please check with any of our greeters in the lobby for information on classes. Our Worship Assembly begins at 10:25 in the auditorium for all ages. Whether you know a little or a lot about the Bible, you and your children can find a place to belong, learn, grow, and be treated with love and respect.

What are our beliefs?

We strive to be a Gospel-centered church that focuses on helping people trust and follow Jesus. Click here to see our core beliefs.

Can I bring my children?

Please do! Children are always welcome in our assembly, but a nursery with caring providers is provided for children from birth to 24 months during our worship assembly. During our Bible class times we have age appropriate lessons from the Bible being presented by safe, caring adults in classrooms around our building. Feel free to drop your child off and find an adult class that interests you, or you are welcome to stay with your child as well. At a designated time during the worship assembly, all our children from the youngest to 3rd grade are invited to participate in Children’s Church on the steps of the stage where they can worship and learn on their own level. This only lasts a few minutes, and children will be given an activity sheet to work on during the remainder of the service before returning to their seats. There are also brightly colored activity bags at the back of the auditorium that are designed to help our children learn during our worship time.

What do I wear?

You are welcome at East Side just as you are. You’ll see t-shirts, jeans, ties, dresses, and everything in between. Whatever you’re comfortable wearing is fine with us. We believe that it’s the attitude of your heart that matters to God rather than your physical appearance.

How do I become a member?

To begin a conversation with a church leader and learn more about the vision and values of our church, call the church office at 325-573-3583, or email us at office@eastsidefamily.church for more information.

Our Story

East Side traces its roots back to 1897, and its first building back to 1907. East Side moved to its current location in 1960. Though the locations and names have changedover the years, our church family has always sought to honor our Lord Jesus by answering his calling, and serving the community around us in new and exciting ways. It is our continued mission to Grow in FAITH, Bring HOPE, and be Known by our LOVE.
